The people of Mtshabezi (M-sha- be- zy) are hard working and willing to do what it takes to keep their families alive. However, the economic situation in the country has wreaked devastation upon them. The HIV/AIDS epidemic has made things worse and thousands of people have died due to lack of good health care.

Our goal is to change that.

“Look at the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise.” - Proverbs 6:6.

Ants are fascinating little bugs. They are always working yet they have no commander. Why can’t we be like ants? Why can’t we line up to help those less fortunate than us? Why can’t we run to drug companies to see if they can spare those extra drugs for the needy? Why can’t we spend a day in a community center giving courage to the
discouraged? We see malnourished orphans, why not help them? The world
would be a fascinating place if we followed the ant example. They are not only
hard working, they are organized. They never fight each other. They spend
less time talking and more time doing. Spray insecticides on them and the next
day they will be back, just as determined and as industrious for the good of
their community. It is our goal that Hope for Mtshabezi will follow the
ant model.
