Our History:


2005

  • Hope for Mtshabezi Organization is founded
  • Purchase equipment and medication for Mtshabezi Hospital

 2006

  • Sponsored monthly trips to Mtshabezi Hospital for visiting doctor as the hospital did not have any doctors and was run by nurses.
  • Constructed men and women's bathrooms at Mtshabezi Hospital.  HFM provided all equipment and materials, and hired builders from the community of Mtshabezi.
  • Provided hospital with medication, medical supplies, and equipment.
  • Sponsored NUST (National University of Science and Technology) medical students/lecturers for a week-long health outreach at the hospital.


 2007

  • Remodeled and furnished Dr's quarters in the hope of getting a doctor for the hospital.
  • Provided hospital with medication, medical supplies, and equipment.
  • Nursing Charity Organization for the Philippines and Zimbabwe founded. HFM becomes an affiliate of NCOPZ a 501C3 charity organization

2008

  • First doctor in 7 years joins Mtshabezi hospital staff.
  • Donated a vehicle to provide transportation for the doctor.
  • The economic situation in Zimbabwe is dire and beyond our imagination. We soon realized that many villagers could not even travel to the hospital due to huge economic constraints and some just too sick to walk for miles. As a result  HFM sponsored the first Community Health Outreach at Lumene School.  13 doctors and dozens of other medical professionals volunteered their services and we provided the medication and medical supplies.  They worked from sunrise to sunset until all medication and supplies ran out.
  • Provided hospital with medication, medical supplies, and equipment.

2009

  • HFM sponsors 2nd Community health outreach June 13, 2009 Sitezi Clinic (approx 900 people treated).
  • October 6 -- 1st surgery in 8 years at Mtshabezi hospital after the hospital gets the second doctor, a surgeon.
  • October 24-- 3rd Community health outreach Sitezi clinic (approx 400 people treated).
  • HFM supports Mtshabezi hospital with medication.

 2010

  • May 8-- Nswazi Community Health Outreach (1300 people seen)
  • August – HFM sponsored the two Mtshabezi Hospital doctors to attend the Annual Medical conference at Victoria Falls.
  • HFM continues to support Mtshabezi Hospital with medication and medical supplies.
  • November 17 - HFM participates in Mayezane School 100th Anniversary by providing healthcare to the community during the event. 100 people treated.
